Stephen Gary McLaughlin

Steve grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts. After graduating from Quincy High School, he discovered a passion for working in the hospitality and service industry, where he made many lifelong friends and acquaintances. While working at the Boston Fish House in Newton, he met his wife and life-long partner, Jan. After getting married, he pursued a career working with his brother Jeff in the office furniture industry while raising his family in Millis, Massachusetts. Steve’s career path eventually led him to Georgetown, Texas, where he led Operations for Facility Interiors in Austin, Texas. He worked for Facility Interiors from 1998-2020, leading a team that installed office furniture for many businesses throughout Austin. He also continued to work in the service and hospitality industry in Texas at the Dell Diamond and the Marriott hotel in Round Rock, Texas.

Steve was passionate about boats, camping, planes, muscle cars, and riding his Harley. His family and friends have fond memories of their summers spent with him in New Hampshire, camping and boating. He had a great wit and loved making others laugh. He will be remembered by all who knew him.

Stephen is preceded by his brother, Paul “Jeff” McLaughlin and his parents, Paul and Anna McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife, Janis McLaughlin of Georgetown, TX; daughter, Kristen Pham, her husband Minh, their daughter Quinh-Le and son Troy of Pflugerville, TX; son, Ryan McLaughlin, his wife Shiela and their daughters, Carson and Maddie of Port Aransas, TX; daughter, Katie McLaughlin of Georgetown, TX; sisters, Judith A. Kelly of Dennisport, MA and Paulina E. Danahy of Hanover, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

His family is planning on hosting a ceremony to celebrate his life at a later time due to the pandemic.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to any of the following: American Heart Association, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, Georgetown Animal Shelter, World Wildlife Fund or your favorite local Animal Shelter.
