Thomas (TC) Hall, age 94, of Georgetown, Texas, formerly of Riviera, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. TC was born on March 13, 1919 to George Thomas and Eva Hammons in Pilot Point, Texas. TC grew up on the family farm, one of seven children consisting of three boys and four girls. In May of 1944, TC enlisted in the United States Army as part of the 1777th Engineer Construction Battalion.
After returning to Texas TC moved his young family to Kingsville, then to Riviera. TC spent over 30 years as a postal worker, most of them as a rural mail carrier for the Riviera community. TC was very much a part of that area and new it well, but after retiring he decided to move to Georgetown to be close to his family. TC never "retired" though, he believed in hard work and continued to do so well into his late 80's. Whether he was working on a project in his welding shop or helping a family member on a project of their own, he didn't stop until the task was complete, then it was on to something else.
TC is survived by his sons, Tom Hall and wife Mary of Llano, Texas and Jack Hall and wife Cindy of Taylor, Texas; daughters, Debbie Phillips and husband Jimmy of Georgetown, Texas, Cindy Boatright and husband Steve of Elgin, Texas and Candy Hodge and husband Hank of Georgetown, Texas; and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tyson Family Cemetery, Pilot Point, Texas.
The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Visiting Angels of Georgetown, Odyssey Hospice of Georgetown and Meme's House of Georgetown for their care and support.
Arrangements by Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78628 (512)863-2564.
