Vernon Alvie Baker, Jr. was born July 19, 1953 and passed away on December 22, 2020. He was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Juanita (Huggins) Baker and a brother, Billy Larry Baker. He is survived by his sisters, Vernell Moncure and Carole Pernicka and their families. Jr. lived at Austin State School and Travis State School until the age of 40 when he moved to group home setting. He was fortunate to spend his last years living in group home of Exceptional Employment Services and to attend the EES Day Hab.
The family would like to express gratitude to staff at St. David’s North Hospital for the care given to Jr. and also to Exceptional Employment Services for many years of care.
Graveside service for Jr. will be held at Mahomet Cemetery, January 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm.
Today he is free at last of the bonds that held him in this earthly life.
