

Victor Willie "William" Divin of Georgetown, Texas, passed away at the age of 90 on May 20, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his three daughters, who will continue to honor his memory by living their lives in the same spirit that he lived his.
Victor was born December 24, 1930, in Waller, Texas, to Willie Albert and Francis Mary Divin. Around 1946 the family moved to Wallis, Texas. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Bobbye June, whom he married on February 28, 1949.
Victor served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a Cryptographic Specialist. He was stationed at the 775th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron in Cambria, California, and had the highest security clearance given at that time. He was honorably discharged in October of 1955 as Staff Sergeant and awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Following active duty, he served with his brother, Bobby, for two years in the Reserves.
After his military service, Victor returned to Texas to finish his education. He first graduated from South Texas College and later continued his education at the University of Houston. He had a successful and rewarding career as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Manufacturing Engineering in the oil and gas industry and later in the aerospace industry with Morton Thiokol Inc.
Throughout his life, he was a gifted musician who loved writing music and playing the guitar. He performed with many country-western and Czech polka bands such as the Syncopators, Western Stars, the Texas Polka Boys, and with his favorite nephew, Randal Divin. Music was a lifelong passion that he carried with him until the very end.
Victor is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbye June; parents, Willie Albert and Francis Mary; and sister, Fannie.
He is survived by his two brothers, Leo (Judie) Divin of Rosharon, Texas and Robert "Bobby" (Carol) Divin of Rosenberg, Texas; his three daughters, Patricia Divin (Dave) Klein of McKinney, Texas, Deborah Divin (Ray) Simpson of Missouri City, Texas and Theresa Divin Teague of Georgetown, Texas; his grandchildren, Bobby (Kealey), Dustin (Olga), Chad, Nicki (Darren), David, Valerie (Jarred), Anna (Eric), Michael (Andrea), Brian, and Bonnie (Duane); and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Carsyn, Brayden, Colby, Mia, River June, Fallon, Emma, Mila, Anna, Sasha, Willow, Nevvy, Lily, Ryan, Jack, Haley, Noah, and Reagan.
A memorial rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Graveside urn placement with military honors will follow at 3:00 pm, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Cemetery, 33102 Haley Road in Waller, Texas.
