

William "Bill" Lloyd Lockhart, Jr., 75, of Florence, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35, Georgetown, TX. A service celebrating his life and his faith will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10am at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel with the Reverend J.P. Kessie officiating. Interment will follow at Florence City Cemetery in Florence, TX. Honoring Mr. Lockhart as pallbearers will be: Gary Dill, Greg Dill, Glen Dill, Danny Tucker, James Tucker, Hugh Tucker, Charlie Tucker, Dwight Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will be John Lockhart, Erik Hampton, Kevin Hampton, Harold Reynolds, and John Breen. Bill was born on June 10, 1938 in Florence, Texas to William, Sr. and Prudence (Schanhals) Lockhart. After his graduation from Florence High School Class of 1956, he served his country honorably in the United States Army, serving in artillery at Foot Hood and Fort Knox. On September 15, 1957, he married Norma Tucker to whom he was married for over 46 years until her passing in 2004. Bill worked for the City of Austin Electric Department, as the Coordinator for Energy Generation, retiring the first time at the age of 51, but was called back to work contract until he retired on September 30, 1988 for the last time to spend more time with his family. He was a lifetime resident of Florence and served as an Elder at Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Andice, TX. Bill greatly enjoyed many outdoor activities with his family and friends, camping, boating, fishing, hunting, working on the farm and playing with his great grandkids. He was a fixer and welder, so he had many projects going on all the time. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Norma. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his son, Wes and wife Tina; daughter, Wanda Shelton and husband Bobby; grandchildren: Jennifer Shelton, Kevin and Bree Hampton, Amber Lockhart, John Lockhart, Erik and Katie Hampton and Kari Lockhart-Pegg; great-grandchildren: Haley, Katlyn, Kenneth, Landon, Lakotah, Derica, Breelynn, Errison, Miyley, Beila, Emily, Erika, Dalton, Keaton and Destynee; his best friends, Harold Reynolds and John Breen; along with many other loving family and friends The family wishes to acknowledge caregivers: Tonya Hope, Macy Hope, Carla Skeen, Casey Vasquez, and Toni Falcon ; as well as Candy, Barbara, Shelly, Judy, Melinda, Rosorio, Christine and Mike of Resolutions Hospice for the loving care they showed their dad and PaPa during his last months and days with them is greatly cherished. Bill's family request that memorial donations in his memory be sent to, Resolutions Hospice, Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Florence Volunteer Fire Department or the Alzheimer's Association.
