

Allen James Knott, 79, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away at home on January 11, 2025. He was born October 7, 1945, to Donald and Opal Knott.
He received his early education in Lingle Public Schools, graduating from Lingle High School. He then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming; a master’s from Chadron State College in Nebraska.
Allen also served four years in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic. After the Air Force he became a teacher and later, Vice Principal at Gering Junior High. Allen made a positive impact on countless students and colleagues.
He married Laura Glasco on November 7, 2003, at Wildcat Hills, and they lived in Gering, Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife Laura; son Kyle Allen Knott; grandson; Corbin Loutzenhiser; stepdaughter Lisa (Jordan) Marie Sayler; granddaughters, Maddie and Macie; stepson, Tyler (Gabe) Joseph Glasco, grandchildren, Danny, Finn and Teagan; and brother Melvin (Marlene) Knott.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Claudia Knott; daughter Annie Marie Loutzenhiser; and brothers Dwight and Gayle Knott.
In lieu of a formal funeral service, a private placement has already taken place at Westlawn Cemetery in Gering, Nebraska.
