Curtis "Curt" Ewing Bennett

He was raised on a farm with his older brother J. Bryan. He was educated in Gering Schools and graduated from Gering High School class of 1949.

As a young man, he raised livestock, was a farmer, and rancher. Later he became a real estate agent with Winterer Realty in Scottsbluff. After which he started his own company B & B Vending which serviced local establishments with amusement machines. Later he owned Lucky Keno. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ. He served his country in the Coast Guard where he was stationed at Annette Island in Alaska. When he returned to Gering, he met and married Dorothy Feidler. To this union three daughters were born - Susan Ann, Derry DeAnne and Tracy Lea. Curt was a member of the PBA (Professional Bowlers Association). He was in many leagues in Nebraska and also competed in tournaments in the panhandle and surrounding states.

He married Bonnie Kemerling in 1972. To that union four children (Vicki, Terri, Dana and Dan) were added to the family.

Curt later met and married Marie Blevins in 1988, whom he was married to for 38 wonderful years. To this union three children were added to the family: Robert, Jeff and Shelly.

Upon retirement, Curt and Marie moved to Mesquite, Nevada and enjoyed many years together until his passing. Curt loved to golf, watch football and care for the hummingbirds in their backyard. He loved going to the casinos and especially enjoyed the Friday night seafood buffet.

He is preceded in death by his Parents – Melvin and Wyola Bennett, his brother J. Bryan, wives – Dorothy and Bonnie and children Dana Bennett and Robert Blevins.

He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Marie “Suggie” Bennett. His children; Susan (Jim) Edwards, Derry (Matt) Creutz, Tracy (Will) Ribeiro, Dan (Amanda) Bennett, Shelly (Scott)Vath, Jeff (Debbie) Blevins, Vicki (Max) Smith, and Terri Beuhler. Grandchildren: Alexander Ribero, Melanie Hopf, Nickolas Martin, Gabrielle Weis, Danaeah Bennett, Hayden Bennett, Marlie Honstein, Brad Pierce, Dani Lundgren, Andy Johnston, Eric Johnston, Rob Johnston, Kelly Johnston, Ashley Johnson, Emily Neeck, Keith Buehler, Kira and Mike Kastan. Niece; Julie (Bennett) Anderson. Nephew; Jeff Bennett. Several great grandchildren and relatives along with many friends.

He had numerous friends who will miss his great laugh, jokes and many stories.
