

Predeceased by her husband James Arthur Roberts and her son Russell as well as her father and mother, George and Caroline Clarke, her sister Georgina and her brother, Baxter. She was the last member of her family. Left to mourn her passing are her three daughters, Faith ( the late Alex) Balisch, Patricia (Albert) Mckenzie and Elizabeth (Terrence Gracie). She had nine grandchildren; Arnold and Karl Balisch, Ronald, Alison and David McKenzie, Blaine and BJ Gracie, James and Carrie Lynn Roberts, thirteen great grandchildren; Joshua, Jamie, Felicia, Matthew, Ethan, Aedan, Ryley, Emma, Evan, Paulina, Michael, Matthew, and Gabriel and one great great granddaughter, Shelby. Carrie was born in harbor Le Cou in Newfoundland in 1918 and moved to Glace Bay as a child. She lived a full and rich life with her family and enjoyed a forty year membership in a neighborhood Christmas Savings Club on MacLean St. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and also for many years attended the Salvation Army Home League. Until this past year she enjoyed the Saturday night Bingo at the Community Hall in Birch Grove and many cups of Tim Horton’s coffee and hot chocolate with her family and friends. The family would like to thank the caregivers, especially Betty Ann Christoff, who daily made her life so much more comfortable. No flowers by request. Donations in Carrie’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Anglican Church or a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation will be held at Patten Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 9,2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 pm in Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
