Catherine 'Kay' 'Cassie' MacLean Ross

Catherine ‘Cassie’ ‘Kay’ Ross97, Glace BayCatherine Ross, 97 of Nolan Street, Glace Bay passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Port Morien. Born in Main a Dieu, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Catherine ‘Kate’ (Griffin) MacLean. She was a member of Warden United Church, New Aberdeen. She is survived by sons; Robert and wife, Shirley, Port Morien, Harold and wife, Margaret Knox, Lunenburg, daughter-in-law, Barbara Ross, Glace Bay and also by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.She was predeceased by her husband, William Thomas and by her eldest son, William Roy. Being the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also predeceased by sisters; Christina ‘Tina’ Waugh, Mary Bell Howard, Margaret ‘Maggie’ MacFarlane, all of Florence, Rhodena Thorne, Sydney River, one brother, Charles, two half brothers, James and George MacLean. Visitation for Catherine Ross will be held at Patten Funeral Home, Friday, July 31, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with funeral service to follow Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Duncan Roach officiating. Burial in Forest Haven Memorial Garden, Sydney, Nova Scotia.
