Buddy was born on March 14, 1937 to Gordon and Phyllis Wadden in Port Morien. In 1958 he married Valerie Wadden. Buddy and Valerie Wadden had 4 children: Karen (Gary), Rob (Susan), Glenn, Devon (Beth), Daughter-in-law Franklynn, and 9 grandchildren: Andrew, Michelle, Nicole, Brittany, Meghan, Heidi, Laura, Jacob, and Ethan. He is survived by his brother Wayne, sisters Delores, Alma, and Muriel. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings Joyce, Mora, and Phyllis.
Buddy was a retired coal miner of 39 years. He was a selfless person and always put others first. In his retirement, Buddy enjoyed cheering for the Toronto Maple Leaf’s, but most of all he loved seeing his grandkids grow up, spending time with his family and friends, sharing jokes, and putting smiles on everyone's face. Buddy touched the lives of so many and was a stranger to no one. We will remember Buddy for his loving nature, kind spirit, and warm heart.
Cremation will take place under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay. Services will be held at a later date. Tributes, words of comfort and memories of Buddy may be shared with his family at www.pattenfuneral.com.
