Mabel Turner

It is with sadness that we, the family , of Mabel Blanche (Madie) Turner announce her passing in her 94th year on April 16,2012 at the Glace Bay Healthcare Complex. The daughter of the late George and Roseanna Moores, she was the last surviving member of her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roy; brothers Arthur, Lee, Charles, John; sisters, Mary, Florence, Gladys, Margaret, sister-in-law and her best friend Pam Moores.

She is survived by son, Dr. Gerald (Beverley) Turner, Glace Bay and daughter, Carole (John) Newell, Westmount; grandchildren Michele (Glace Bay); Glenn (Kim), Sydney River; Dale (Jenn) Glace Bay; Dr. J. Glen Newell, Toronto; great grandchildren Ashley, Beverley-Anne, Mitchell, Lauren, Emily and Owen and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St, Glace Bay. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18th from 7-9pm. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 19th at 11am in the Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Goodfellow officiating. Private internment will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Family flowers only by request. Donations in Mabel’s memory may be made to Newsome United Church or to a favorite charity.
