The family would like to extend our deepest thank you to Dr. Ley and the staff at the Glace Bay Hospital who provided exceptional care and support to Ma and us her family. A special thank you as well to Dr. Kent Cadegan and Brenda for the many years of care given to Ma. She always had a special place in her heart for them.
Ma was a member of the Tower Road Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary for all of adult life. She had many good time and card games with the Tower Road ladies. She enjoyed many years as the lunch lady at the Tower Road Elementary School. She was an avid dart player and loved her bingo games, Ma was also a huge Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan, their losses were always the fault of the referees and umpires.
To our family Ma was the solid but gentle center. She made the best homemade bread, molasses cookies and fish and brewis. Ma was the oldest of 7 and was only 14 years old when her mother passed away. From that day on she looked after her young siblings and was considered their honorary Mother. She endured many losses in her life with such grace and dignity - a role model to us all. She will be missed by her special canine friend Niki.
In following Marg’s wishes cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Patten Funeral Home, visitation will be held on Wednesday April 10, 2024 from 11am -1pm with service to follow in Patten Chapel with Rev. Bob Biggar officiating.
