

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Sid Turner on Tuesday Aug.16,2011 at the Halifax Infirmary surrounded by his loving family. Sid was the son of Violet (Parson) Turner and the late Albert Turner.
He was employed with Municipal Ready Mix.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and golfing. He enjoyed many trips on his Harley with Marg.
He was an avid gardener and a gifted woodworker who took pride in everything he did.
Sid is survived by his loving wife Margaret (MacNeil) “Margie” daughters Donna (Carson) Mugford , Sydney River, Lori (Brian) Lawrence, Sydney River, Julie(Brad) Nicholson, Halifax, sons Glenn (Paula) Turner Kemptville On., Terry(Jennifer) Turner, Glace Bay, sisters Ruby (the late Sonny) MacLeod, Janet (John) Macfie, Barb(Eric) McPherson, Debbie(the late Tim) Flemming, Sandy Turner(Liam), Cheryl(Keith) Howie, sister-in-law Anne MacNeil.
Sid also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren; Sidney and Josh Mugford, Graham Turner, Caleb, Emma, and Callie Lawrence, Mya Turner, Sophia Nicholson and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, Sid was predeceased by brothers, Donnie (the late Marg), Barry, and sister Wendy , in infancy, mother and father in law, Nanny and Boppy MacNeil and special uncle Elmer Turner.
To honor Sid’s life the family invites all who knew and loved him to gather in rembrance at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union Street, Glace Bay, on Monday, August, 22,2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers , memorial donations to the Glace Bay Hospital Foundation or the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated.
