Abe G. Corley

Abe G. Corley, age 84, of Gladstone, Missouri passed away August 27, 2023 at his home. Abe was born on December 20, 1938 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jean (Green) and Clarence Corley. Abe graduated from Oak Grove Louisiana High School and moved to Liberty, Missouri where he lived with his aunt & uncle Virginia (Green) & Francis Fambrough and worked for the Missouri Highway Department for two years and then the Co-op where he met and married the love of his life, Anna Marie Hobbs to whom he was married for almost sixty-two years. In 1961 he was drafted into the army where he served two years and was stationed in Germany for a year and a half. After being discharged from the army Abe enjoyed a successful career of 36 years at the General Motors Fairfax plant (UAW Local 31) in Kansas City, Kansas.

Abe was preceded in death by his parents Clarence & Jean Corley, his aunt and uncle Virginia & Francis Fambrough, daughter Kimberly Corley, son Todd Corley, son-in-law David Ankney, sister & brother-in-law Joanna & James Tatum, brother Larry Corley, brother & sister-in-law Mack & Willa Corley, sister-in-law Carolyn Corley.

He is survived by his wife Ann, daughter Tammy Ankney, daughter Tracy Flores (Mark), grandson Zachary Corley (Leah), grandson Dr. Cody Ankney, great-granddaughter Chloe Corley, sister-in-law Sheila Corley, brother, David Corley, brother Henry Corley (Agnes) and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Gladstone Paramedics, Fire and Public Safety for their care & support over the years.

The family will hold private services.
