Andrew “Andy” Garcia, 78, of Kansas City, passed away on June 1, 2014. Funeral service will be at 10 AM, Friday, June 6, 2014 at White Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Andy was born on February 4, 1936 in San Antonio, TX, the son of Manuel and Rita (Ledezma) Garcia. He was a United States Air Force veteran. After serving for his country he started working for the Postal Service as a clerk for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching baseball. Survivors include his children, Michael A. Garcia, Christopher A. Garcia (Joy), and Lisa Garcia; four step-children, Denise Garcia, Charles Diaz, Blaine Diaz and Terry Diaz; three grandchildren, Kristine M. Garcia, Conner A. Garcia and Alicia N. Garcia; four step-grandchildren, Chuck, Frank, Vince and Cindy Garcia; three siblings, Pauline Davis, Jesse Huante and Jesse Garcia; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his children, Mary Angela; and brothers, Mike and John Garcia.
