

Anna Mae was born July, 4, 1930, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the daughter of Alvin R. and Doris M. (Shockley) Hanan. She married James Taylor in 1947. Over the next 30 years, the couple welcomed nine children, into their home. Her children remember her as a strong woman that taught them to work hard and be honest.
Anna loved animals and was passionate about not allowing animals or children to be mistreated. Anna Mae attended catholic school as a child. She went back to work when the children were older. She worked as an aide in the nursing home, always making sure the patients were not mistreated. She was a manager at the snack bar at the Clayco Drive-In for a few years. She also worked at Whitaker Cables for a few years.
James Taylor died in 1977, she then married Richard Price in 1979.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Doris Hanan; both husbands, James Taylor and Richard Price; two daughters, Judy Birdsell and Rosemary Goddard; one son, Jerry Taylor; and one granddaughter, Debra Reed.
She is survived by her children, Doris Johnson, Anna Bartholome, Mary Tabberer, Cindy Blencoe, James Taylor, and Larry Taylor; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Anna Mae was at Tiffany Springs Care Center for five years. The family would like to thank the caregivers and the staff. They would also like to thank the Compassionate Care Hospice of Kansas City (Amedisys Hospice), who cared for Anna Mae for three years.
A visitation for Anna will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119. A funeral service will occur at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the White Chapel Cemetery.
