Brian was born December 22, 1947 in Spencer, IA. He grew up on a farm and was an excellent farmer alongside his dad and brother. Brian graduated from Oak Park High school. He later went on to become a very talented, hardworking auto mechanic. He spent most of his career at Sam’s Service Center in Kansas City, MO where he rarely missed a day of work in over 40 years.
Brian served in The United States Air Force from 1967 to 1971, during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in both Japan and Thailand during that time. His family is proud and grateful for his service.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents; Delmer F. Laursen and Ruby L. (Nelson) Laursen, both veterans of The United States Navy. He is survived by his children, Amanda (Laursen) Edmonds and Dana Laursen; and step-daughter, Jeannie Culton. He is also survived by his three siblings, Carole (Laursen) Cantrell, Douglas Laursen and Lorna (Laursen) Raden; and brother-in-law, Douglas Raden. Brian is survived by two granddaughters and four step-grandchildren as well.
The family would like to give many thanks to Dr. Gregory Horowitz, of North Kansas City Hospital, The Plattsburg Medical Clinic, and the caring nurses and social workers at Three Rivers Hospice, for providing excellent care to Brian during his illness, up to his passing.
Brian will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
