To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.
Milton, 89, was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended East High School, Kansas Jayhawk Alum and a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity. Proudly served his country in the 734th AAA Battalion US Army.
Carol, 83, was born in Cloquet, Minnesota, and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended the Holy Angels Catholic School, and in her words, was “dragged kicking and screaming from her home and friends in Milwaukee to Kansas City”.
Our parents were raised with similar ideals. Honesty, loyalty, integrity, faith, and the most important, family. They each had their own successes and failures, accomplishments and regrets, loves and tragedies.
It is who they were together that will be remembered.
There are many plaques, awards, certificates of appreciation, and, acknowledgements of service, that bear their names. Gladstone Mayor, Councilman, President of the Chamber of Commerce, First women on the Gladstone Planning Commission, Park and Recreation Advisory Board, Chairman of the Board of Zoning, Industrial Development Authority, and many other civic organizations.
As lifelong members and supporters of St. Charles Borromeo Church and school, Milton and Carol enjoyed serving together as Ministers of Communion and most of all as Lectors.
It was their love, support, and commitment to each other that made these things possible.
There is no Milton without Carol, or Carol without Milton. They are one. Milton and Carol Wallace.
From the first disastrous “Blind Date”, to 63 years of marriage, 5 daughters, 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, their story continues.
How lucky we are to have been blessed with the most amazing parents. We love you and will miss you greatly. Always, Your Girls.
Mom and Dad are now re-united with their grandson Sean M. Weisenfels, Carol’s parents Sylvester “Mac” & Margaret M. Macrorie and her younger twin brothers, Ken & Bob. Milton’s parents Clyde M. & R. Lavon Wallace and his younger brother, Kenneth, and the many friends and other family members.

Dad wasn’t a fan of flowers, instead he showed his love for mom with handwritten notes, cards and special gifts knowing these would last. In keeping with the Milton “school of thought”, please no flowers. Share a story, a memory, a picture, or if you choose consider a donation to one of the organizations that Milton and Carol supported. Links are provided below.
Thank you,
