Ms. Carolyn Anderson

Carol was born on October 24, 1938 in Copperhill, Tennessee to Sarah and Otis Hamby. She studied at Colorado State University after graduating from Boulder High School in 1953. During her first marriage, the couple welcomed three children into their home. They moved many times through their marriage and eventually settled in Platte Woods, Missouri. Her children remember her as a strong willed and determined mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was an active and dedicated member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church and often volunteered to support the friends of Bill W.’s.

Carol is preceded in death by mother, Sarah Hamby (Helmboldt); father, Anton “Otis” Hamby; her brother, Anton “Tony” (Francene) Hamby Jr.

Carol is survived by her sons, James “Jim” and Russell Holt; daughter, Janelle “Jenny” Holt; step-son, Mark (Nancy) Anderson; sister, Sharon (Charles) Cooper; granddaughter, Kara (Justin) Brawley; grandson, Markus (Danielle McMahon) Holt; granddaughter, Ashley (Jason) Wilson; grandson, Michael (Joslyn Walden) Holt; granddaughter, Whitney (Dylan) Chastain; great grandchildren, Hayden and Hadley Brawley, Brently Holt, Talon and Zadie Wilson, & Kylie and Charleigh Chastain.
