Carroll Frances McCoskey, 90, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025. She was born near LaHarpe, Kansas on September 12th, in 1935. She was the youngest of six daughters born to William Fredrick and Anna Eunice (Field) Gwillim. She was still in school when both of her parents passed away. Living with relatives, she went on to graduate from Planeview High School in Wichita, KS in 1954.
On March 19th, 1955, Carroll married her High School boyfriend, Harry McCoskey. Together they raised 3 children. The marriage ended, though, after thirty years.
Carroll worked many different jobs through the years, including typing, school food service, housekeeping at Best Western, finally retiring from Wal-mart where she worked in cleaning, in the Domestic Department, and as a door greeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Anna Gwillim, sisters Marie Hollingshead, Ruby Brann, Helen Ard, and Betty Carey, and her son-in-law Rex Denison.
Carroll is survived by her sister Doris Alyea, her daughters Anna Denison, and Cindy (Bob) Myers, and son David (Lisa) McCoskey. Also, six, grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at White Chapel Funeral Home, located at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, on October 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life service will follow at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Interment will take place at White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119, with a burial scheduled for 12:00 pm. A committal graveside service will occur from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
