David Wayne Schumacher

David Wayne Schumacher, age 65, passed peacefully after his courageous battle with stage 4 cancer. David was born April 25, 1958 to Alfred and Helen (King) Schumacher. David graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1977.

David met the love of his life, Phillis, in 1964, while in the first grade. The pair welcomed their first and only daughter Lacie Schumacher in September of 1990.

David was a dedicated employee and spent any of his free time with his family. He was a planner and provider and loved to spoil his family.

He had a passion for all sports but he had a deep love for the Chiefs and the Royals. If you interrupted his game, he would let you know.

He is preceded in death by his parents, father in law Phillip Black, sister in law Georgia Lewis and brother in law Robert Black.

He is survived by his wife Phillis, daughter Lacie, bonus daughter Jordan, and many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the Doctors' and Staff at the Sarah Cannon Center, North Kansas City Hospital, Centerwell home health as well as Gentiva Hospice of Tiffany Springs. Big Thanks to Pastor Brack and Doug Cole.

Please make sure to wear comfortable, not bright clothing, as the family would like friends to be relaxed as we celebrate David's life. Jeans are okay.

A visitation for David will be held Friday, July 14, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 North East Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri 64119, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
