Donovan E. Taylor, 85, of Gladstone, passed away on August 4, 2014. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the White Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, on Friday, August 8, 2014, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Continua Hospice or First Baptist Church.
Donovan was born on February 23, 1929 in Plattsburg the son of Claude and Versia (Evans) Taylor. Donovan was a United States Army veteran, receiving numerous awards during his service. He had worked at Commercial Lithographing until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Kansas City for over 50 years. Survivors include: his loving wife of 61 years in September, Jean; one son, Danny Taylor and wife Jane; one granddaughter, Shannon Holloway and husband Wes; two great-grandchildren, Colten and Chase; one sister, Doris Lathrop and husband Ronnie; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lois Brant and one brother, David Taylor.
