She was born on August 12, 1930, to Pompilio and Armida Fontana. Eleanor was a graduate from Wells High School, Southbridge, MA, Class of 1949. Eleanor’s’ family describes her as a vibrant 89-year-old that had a tremendous love for her family. She was passionate about flowers, gardening and loved to travel. The family is happy to know that she is lovingly reunited with her beloved husband, Edmund and will be laid to rest with him at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Eleanor retired after 25 years from Monsanto, St. Louis, MO.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund Bardy in 2007 and her sisters, Lily Mandeville and Irene Champagne.
Survivors include her son, James (Lesley) Bardy her daughter, Ellen Bardy; her grand-children, Christopher Bardy, Derek Halloran, Jon Bardy, and Colton Halloran; her sister, Dina Barnes; and her brother, Harry (Dorothy) Fontana. She was a loving auntie to several nieces and nephews and their families, Herb (Jo-Ann), Kathy, Lauren (Dave), Greg (Jamie), Scott, Jeffrey, Jonathan, Nick, Jenna, Luke, Sarah, Matthew, and Dan.
