Elijah Samuel Hales

He was the perfect baby. He loved his dogs and playing outside. He shared his parents love for Chipotle, and he could eat a tub of guacamole by himself. He had a smile and wave that will never be forgotten. Everyone who met Eli knew he was someone truly special.

In addition to his parents, he will be remembered by his maternal grandmother Karen (Thompson) Chester-Brown; paternal grandmother Carmilla (Hurst) Hales; maternal uncle and aunt Michael and Amy (Chester) Carlson; maternal first cousin Brynley Carlson; and a wonderful tribe of loving family and friends.

Elijah was preceded in death and has joined his grandpas in heaven - maternal grandfather E.B. Chester and paternal grandfather Robert Hales.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 10 am. Both will be held at the Newcomers White Chapel Funeral Home. Located at 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119.

Elijah’s parents are understanding that wearing black is traditional, but they want to encourage attendants to bring joy. They are encouraging colorful clothes or having some splash of color to their attire. His parent’s believe Elijah’s 18 months of life deserve to be celebrated!

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Answering the Call “The Hales Family” fund. Elijah’s parents would like to donate coffee gift cards and Wub a Nubs to families and patients of the Pediatric ICU at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
