Fern Ruth Ward, 103, of Kansas City North passed away on October 8, 2014. Memorial service will be at 11:00am, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Fern was born in Wathena, KS on June 6, 1911. She married John Ward in St. Joseph, MO on May 14, 1941, who preceded her in death. She was preceded in death by four brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Anita Dorton and Joseph Dorton of Lombard, IL; two sisters-in-law; one nephew; and seven nieces. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts to City Union Mission, 1100 E. 11th St., Kansas City, MO.
