

Fred was 90, born to parents Carl and Ebba Carlson in Chicago, Illinois on March 28th, 1932. He, his parents and younger sister, Elinor resided in Osage City, Kansas for most of his youth. They then moved to Topeka, Kansas later.
Fred served two years in the US Army, stationed in Alaska. He often told stories of his time there and spoke of how beautiful Alaska was. Later in life, he returned to Alaska with his wife, Mary Ann on one of their many travels.
Fred met and then married his beloved wife Mary Ann on October 25th, 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Fred later graduated from Washburn University, and worked at various management companies. Later in life Fred pursued a personal passion and became self-employed. He owned and managed multiple commercial and residential locations.
Fred enjoyed time with family and friends. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars, renovating buildings, travel, the outdoors and was an avid reader.
Fred was a 40+ year member of the Unity Church Universal of Kansas City, Missouri led by Pastor Greg Neteler.
Fred was survived by his wife, Mary Ann. His children; daughters, Karla Ford and Kelly Porter, son, Kris Carlson and his wife, Jan and daughter, Kim Guthridge and husband, Darren. Grandchildren; Greg Ford and his wife, Amber, Krystal Adams and husband, Michael, Kyle Carlson, Nikkolas Francavilla, Samantha Francavilla and Mary McFarland. Great grandchildren; Exzavier, Brody, Iva, Zaid and Airys. Fred’s sister, Elinor Latimer, husband Bill and family. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, their families and many close friends.
The family will be having a Celebration of Life later this year.
