Gary Lynn Lee, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Gary was born July 24, 1950 in San Antonio, TX to the late Nelson and Geneva Lee. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Margaret (Beaubien); daughter, Gina Wilkerson (Justin); son, Eric Lee (Nicole); brother, Steven Lee (Carolyn); 5 grandchildren, as well as many friends and family that will miss him dearly.
After his father retired from the military, his family made their name in Sedalia, Missouri, where he attended Smith Cotton High School and continued his education, graduating from the University of Central Missouri. He joined the military himself and served in Germany as a decoder until 1974.
He found his niche in the legal technology field, working at Midwest Litigation Services until his retirement in 2016. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He found joy in coaching his son's soccer team for many years and was a devoted KC Royals fan. Sunday's were always reserved for the KC Chiefs. He was an Eagle Scout and loved photography.
He was known for his storytelling, and he never met a stranger. It was in his nature, and to his delight, he would gather his grandchildren or anyone else that would listen and tell them stories, usually ending with laughter and enjoyment by all.
Funeral services will include a Visitation at St. James Catholic Church, 309 S Stewart Rd, Liberty, MO 64068 on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 10 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
We find comfort in knowing his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
