Gene Barnett

Gene Barnett, 72, passed away on January 15, 2023, at his home in Lee’s Summit, Mo, after over a three-year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was surrounded by many family members and friends. He was born September 23,1950, to Loretta Redmon, in Manhattan New York. He was preceded in death by his mother Loretta Barnett, father James Barnett and Grandmother Bea Redmon. He leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Jenifer Barnett, son Sean Barnett, wife Jaime, son Travis Edelman, wife Teri Ishii, son Todd Edelman, wife Lizz and 7 Grandchildren, Granddaughters Addison Barnett, Ashlan Barnett, Alexa Barnett, Charley Edelman, Faith Reinert, Finley Reinert and Grandson Adyn Edelman. Gene would like to be remembered as a friend to all that knew him. He was a very upbeat and positive person up to the very end. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed cars, golf, pool, playing cards, bowling, traveling, music and football. Taking care of his lawn was one of his favorite hobbies. He was very energetic and worked very hard. He worked in the automotive industry for most of his adult life. There will be a Celebration of Life service on Tuesday, January 24 starting at 2pm.
