He was born August 3, 1946, in Fort Scott, Kansas, the son of Ralph W. and Irene M. (Kimbley) Elder. Gerald graduated from Uniontown High School in 1964. He served in the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard.
Gerald was the owner of C&E Plumbing Company.
Gerald loved hunting and fishing. He loved his family and many friends. He was always willing to help those around him. He was a member of Linden Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Irene Elder, and his wife, Barbara Elder.
Gerald is survived by his partner of 16 years, Tony Jager; daughter, Tina Biggs; granddaughter, Kristina Biggs; brother, Edger Elder; and sister, Norma Grimes; as well as many nieces and nephews.
