Gerald “Jerry” W. Gogan passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2018. His wife of 47 years, Nancy, and children Kerri & Kevin Gogan were by his side. Also survived by brother John & 4 grandsons: Sam, Dexter, Max & Connor. He was preceded in death by parents Earl & Lola (Luedtke) Gogan, and sister Linda Hauschild. Jerry was proud to be from Arcadia, NE. A Cornhusker through thick & thin, his undergrad & Masters were from UNL. Jerry served the Peace Corps in Chile for 2 1/2 yrs before returning for his PhD in Agronomy from Iowa State, where he met Nancy. Jerry spent most of his agronomy career in KC at Farmland as a researcher, educator, & author. Happiest working hard outdoors, so the grass was always greener in his yard. Faith, family and football were very important to him and he always put others before himself.
