She was a beloved wife to Jack Lundy, a devoted mother to Katie and Maggie Lundy, and a cherished sibling to Patty Bogart, Frances Shopper, John Shopper, and Jim Shopper.
Gloria spent her life in devoted service to others. She graduated from the St. John School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She started her career working as a hospital nurse, where she was part of the pioneering IV team, then went on to work as a school nurse, where she ensured children were cared for every day.
Gloria was an avid genealogist. She re-discovered Leeds Cemetery, where thousands of Kansas City's poorest residents had been laid to rest with unmarked graves. She prevented the site from being used as a future development, and ensured it was recognized by the city and preserved for families searching for their loved ones.
Gloria was always willing to go above and beyond for those in need, which included animals, never turning away a stray dog, cat, or any creature in need of care.
Gloria will be remembered for the joy she shared with the world through her dynamic smile, her unwavering kindness, and her strength of character.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Lundy; daughters, Katie and Maggie Lundy; and grandchildren, Stella and Aurora Matthews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lottie Shopper, her twin sister, Bonnie VanCleave, her sister Mary Shopper, her brother Albert Shopper, and her brother William Shopper.
