Gloria dedicated her work life as a quality control inspector for the diamond industry. She worked for over 30 years until she was diagnosed with a rare condition called Wegener's Disease.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Mitchem. Her Sisters, Patricia (Don) Sparks, Paula Craner, Cathy (Craig) Kamphefner.
Her Daughters Donna Smith, Gloria (Steven) Mayer, Paula (Jeff) Watson and her son, William Smith.
Her family was her biggest achievement. She leaves behind many loved cousins, nephews, nieces, 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was the #1 GG.
Gloria was the biggest Kansas City Chiefs fan and a season ticket holder, seated along with her Father, for over 50 years. She rarely missed a game and even in her weakest of health, made it to the last Chiefs home game before they went on to win Super Bowl XLVII.
She loved her faith community at Sheffield Family Life Center. Pastor Willie Murillo and others brought her so much spirit, joy and strength.
Gloria lived a life that shined God’s light and never left the room as a stranger. She had a way of leaving everyone with a smile and hope. She will be deeply missed and the family is comforted to know that she is at peace with her God and Parents Paul and Shirley Martinez.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to her church
