Gwen was born on May 20, 1948, in Smithville, Missouri, to Clem “Wally” Wallis and Louise Wallis, who preceded her in death.
She was the beloved wife of Charles Bock and a devoted mother to her three children: Lori Bock (Lynch), Shelli Bock (Mills), and Chad Bock. Gwen was a proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride throughout her life.
Gwen is also survived by her older brother, Gary Wallis.
She spent many years working as a PBX operator for JCPenney and later as part of the office and management staff at Walmart. Gwen was known for her creativity and love of crafting. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, and painting, often creating meaningful keepsakes for family and friends. Above all else, Gwen cherished her family and took great pride in watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren grow.
Visitation will be held 1-2 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 17 at Newcomer’s White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, Missouri 64119. Committal service will follow at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to cancer research or cancer-related charities in Gwen’s memory.
Gwen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
