James Robert "Jim" Bogue, 79, died peacefully on Jan. 10, 2024. Jim was born on Dec. 26, 1945 in Kansas City, Mo. to James and Barbara (Harris) Bogue. He graduated from North Kansas City High School. Jim served his country honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, Jim took over the family business, Pee Dee’s Schwinn Cyclery in North Kansas City, Mo. Jim had many cousins and as a child enjoyed large family gatherings at the grandparents’ home for big fried chicken dinners. He was an Eagle Scout and Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He was a doting uncle, playing many a game of checkers with his nieces and nephew. Jim was also a bird lover who had two pet parrots, Red and Grey. He was a fan of both the Chiefs and the Royals and always enjoyed a good meal at Smokehouse Barbecue.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara (Harris) Bogue; and his sister and brother in law, Janet and James Peter (Pete) Breitenstein.
Jim is survived by his nieces and nephew, Suzanne Searle (Joe), Rebekah Sparks (Joshua), Zachary Breitenstein (Carrie) and Ashley Thum (Nathan) and several cousins.
