

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Trout, February 17, 2025. Jim was born on October 30, 1937. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, Jim touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, faith, and unwavering commitment to family and community.
Jim was a proud alumnus of North Kansas City High School and continued his academic journey at William Jewell College, where he forged lifelong friendships as a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. His character and dedication were evident in every aspect of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret Trout, and his children, Troy Trout, along with his wife, Stacy Trout, and Troy's children, Robert Trout, Alex Trout, and Joe Trout; Tim Trout; Tracy Trout, and her daughter, Tiernan Trout. In addition, he is survived by his stepdaughter, Cynthia Haydon, and her son, Hunter Bailey; Jim's sister, Janet Hanes, her husband, John Hanes, and their son, Byron Hanes.
A devoted member of Platte Woods United Methodist Church, Jim was active in the choir and attended Sunday school regularly. His faith guided him throughout his life, and he was known for his kindness, generous spirit, and willingness to help others in his community.
Jim Trout will be remembered as a loving father, a devoted husband, a proud grandfather, and a faithful servant of his church. His legacy of love, dedication, and compassion will continue to inspire his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation is scheduled at 10:00 am, with Jim's funeral service beginning at 11:00 am on February 28, 2025, at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Rd, Gladstone, MO 64119.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Platte Woods United Methodist Church or to a charity of your choice in his honor.
