Born July 19, 1939, in Riggs, Missouri at the family home to Arthur O. and Flossie Jewell (Somers) Price.
Jerry was a football player and weightlifter in high school, graduating with the Class of 1957 from North Kansas City High School.
He started his career as an iron worker and was a member of Iron Workers Local #10. Jerry worked for American Bridge and Builders Steele until he opened his own business in 1975. Jerry was extremely proud of his company Metal Door Installers located in Kansas City, Missouri.
In his spare time Jerry enjoyed remodeling homes and built two homes. Jerry loved to snow ski in the winter and hike during the warmer months in Colorado as well as traveling with not only his family but many of his children’s friends to Disney, an Alaskan cruise, and many other great places.
His family was very important to him, he is described as a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend “who loved us to the moon and back”. He will be missed not only by his family but by all who knew him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Delores Aileen Price and Ramona Green; and brother, Billie Price.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years and 22 days, Fredia; daughter, Lori (Barry Roberts) Price and Amy (Pat) Price-Wendl; sons, Jeff (Danae) Price and Chad (Trista) Price; sister-in-law, Sondra Whitaker; brother-in-law, Bob Kral; grandchildren, Rian Brooke Dunkin and Hayden Guhr, both of whom he loved dearly; and many nieces and nephews who loved him and he loved in return.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or American Heart Association.
