Jimmy was born to Luis and Viola (Garcia) Lopez in Corpus Christi, Texas on May 24, 1952.
Jimmy worked for General Motors at the Fairfax Plant for over 33 years retiring in 2006 and was a proud and active member of UAW Local 31.
After retirement, he found enjoyment as a crossing guard for Gracemor Elementary School and as the Train Conductor for Worlds of Fun Railroad both of those jobs gave him the ability to see kids smiling and laughing.
Jimmy was also active with St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church and a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3414.
Family was very important to Jimmy and spending time with his grandchildren or great grandchildren always brought a smile to his face. Traveling to Cabo was a highlight for Jimmy as he made numerous trips with family to vacation there over the years.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian (Donze); his parents; his brother, Juan “Junior” Lopez; brother-in-law, Angelo Giaconia; and his son, John Cascone.
Survivors include his daughters, Janel Lopez and Gina (Leroy) Shatto, and Fina (Brock) Jones; his son, Jimmy, Jr. (Gina) Lopez; his sister, Margie Trejo; his brother, Albert (Debbie) Lopez; grandchildren, Daveon, Ana, Sabrina (Kyle), Victoria, Angelia, Nicholas, Estela; 5 great grandchildren with a great granddaughter on the way; and numerous extended family and a host close friends.
