I knew Johnny since he was a kid. He became a part of our family and was like a little brother to me during those years. He was funny, clever and always seemed to have a smile on his face no matter what was going on in his life. It was so great to reconnect with him and talk with him since he came out last year for my Dad’s service. He would speak so highly of his daughters and wife. He seemed very happy. My heart breaks for his family. I love you Johnny. Rest In Peace brother. Meet you , Mike and Dad on the other side  one day.

One of my favorite memories is when we were just kids we would sit and watch the "Greatest American Hero!"
John would be totally fixated on it!
Think we seen every episode:)

I am so very sorry for your loss I was heartbroken to hear about Johnny.  I knew him when he was a boy living on the horse ranch in California  He was a great kid  he loved being at the ranch and helping my husband with the horses   and hanging out with my kids he was like family to us     I had the chance to see him again last year when he came to Sacramento for my husbands memorial service ...It was so caring and thoughtful of him to take the time to make the  trip     Was so Happy to see him after all those years

Went to a lynyrd skynyrd concert with John and  you would of thought he was my best friend because he did not know a stranger. One of the nicest people you could ever meet and will be greatly  missed. 

My little cousin..whom visited KC often while growing up in California...once he reached adultish age he moved in with me for a couple years..never a dull moment indeed...then he bought his own home and moved out to soon be married amd and start a family of his own
..even though he called me often to come give his baby Abby a bath...i would always ablidge...they were new great parents...over the years we grew to be close cousins and created many memories that I will hold near and dear to my heart! Love u...miss u..glad we talked Wednesday

This is Shane prewitt One of john Werkowitch’s neighbors and this loss is the toughest one yet for me because john would take his time out of his day to teach a 11 year old to be a great baseball player I’ve never had a father figure but John was like a stepdad to me one year ago he was teaching me how to throw a baseball correctly now he’s gone but never will be forgotten
