J. Marie Osa, Liberty, Missouri, entered eternal peace April 13, 2018 at age 85, ending her courageous battle with cancer. All are welcome to join her family in remembrance on Tuesday, April 17, funeral service will start at 11 am with a visitation one hour prior at White Chapel Funeral Home.
Marie is joining her parents Manny and Mary Carothers, husband Floyd Osa, and brother Richard Carothers in heaven. Marie is survived by her brother Jack Carothers, Turner, KS, and sister Judy Hodges, Glenaire, MO. Marie leaves behind four loving children: Jeanne Niblock, Liberty, MO, Bill Gray, Omaha, NE, Debbie Hampy, Liberty, MO, and Kathy Shull, Greenwood, MO. As well as ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Marie was a farm girl raised in Parkville, MO. She had fond memories of large family gatherings, close Parkdale neighbors, and playing the piano. Marie met her husband, Floyd Osa, while working at Hawn Bedding Company in North Kansas City, MO. They enjoyed life together for 53 years. Marie was employed at Sears, Roebuck and Company, for 29 years. Upon her retirement from Sears, Marie put her talent for cake decorating to work for Little Bit Bakery and later Nellie’s Custom Cakes in Claycomo, MO. Marie made lasting friendships throughout her life.
Marie’s other talents included gardening, baking, candy making, floral design, and sewing. Family gatherings were the highlight of her life. Marie’s grandchildren will never forget the loving moments spent at Grandma Osa’s. Her grandchildren were showered with hugs, kisses, and treats from her cookie jar.
Marie is loved and will never be forgotten. The family sends a special thanks to Liberty Hospital Hospice, especially Christine Anthony, Amanda Gibbons, and Kim Lowe. Marie cherished her time with Rosie Payne of Focus On Health Homecare.
