

Judy (Reynolds) Cordero was born on July 18th 1944 and (as Judy would identify herself to the hospital staff which always made them laugh…) “It was 9:30 in the morning and it was already hot”. Judy was raised and attended various schools in the surrounding Jamesport and Trenton Missouri area. She completed college at NE Missouri State and taught school after graduation. Always the consummate teacher, she tutored and was very versed in her vocation. Judy and Raymond’s love story is one for the story books. Raymond spotted Judy sitting the hotel lobby of the Ellison, then one day he no longer saw her. He inquired about her whereabouts with the assistance of a hotel clerk and learned that Judy and moved back home. Raymond was not to be deterred and obtained Judy’s home address and proceeded to write her a letter and convinced her to meet him. They fell in love and after their courtship, Raymond and Judy married at the Redemptorist Church in September of 1975 in Kansas City, Missouri and lived in the Kansas City area throughout their 39 years of marriage. Judy was witty, competitive, hardworking and gregarious. Judy loved sports and was a dedicated KU Jayhawks and Royals fan. She loved her family and cherished her relationships with them. She also loved her pet cats Dudley 1 & 2. She was avid reader and was always a student of life. She read and studied the Bible, and believed and loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior. After a brief illness, Judy went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ and all those who proceeded her in death and dearly loved on June 15, 2015. Judy is survived by her faithful and loving husband Raymond, and to quote Judy herself, “he was the best husband”. Judy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. God speed…, you will be missed but we know you are in good company.
