Rev. Jullius Carl Bolin, 92, met his Lord and Savior face to face on Monday, April 25, 2016, at the Veterans Home in Cameron, MO, where he received his final salute. Rev. Bolin was born November 12, 1923, the sixth of ten children to John Taylor and Gracie Hosannah Bolin in Hasty, AR. He spent his childhood in Arkansas, and the family later moved to California. Carl was a US Army veteran, proudly serving his country in the Philippines during World War II. In 1946, Carl met the love of his life, Josephine Troutman. Proving that their love was meant to be, they married just seven days after the first time they met and their marriage stood strong until her unexpected death in January 1995. Carl and Josephine’s home was blessed by the addition of three beautiful daughters: Carla, Debra and Cindy. In 1950, Carl & Josephine committed their lives to the Lord, and he answered the call to preach. Together their family served in ministry for several decades, pastoring churches in Yellville, AR, Lexington, MO, and Kansas City, MO. Their life was blessed even more when grandchildren and great-grandchildren made their appearance. One of Carl Bolin’s greatest sources of pride and joy was that all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren serve the Lord. What an amazing legacy of an amazing man! Pastor Bolin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Verlin, Howard, Jeff, Russell and Zelmer; sisters, Ethyl, Mildred and Thelma; and his beloved wife, Josephine. He is survived by his children, Carla & David Richardson, Debra & Steve Liberty, and Cindy Butts, all of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Christy Gillaspie, Darrell & Ann Lightfoot, Mike & Jessica Butts, Chris Liberty, Nicky Liberty and Jon Butts; great-grandchildren, Brandon Lightfoot, Nathan Butts, Juliana Lightfoot and Jackson Butts; stepgrandchildren, Becky Brooks, and Liz & Martin Trujillo; stepgreat-grandchildren, Josh, Brayden & Aubrey Brooks, Isabella, Josiah & Elijah Trujillo; brother, JD Bolin, Yuma, AZ; nieces and nephews; other relatives; countless friends and those with whom he shared Jesus. Carl Bolin was a man who loved God, his family, and preaching the gospel. He had a heart of gold and a smile you would never forget. He will be remembered with much love and honor.
