

Ken was born on March 13, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Stanley and Marie Kenik. He moved to Kansas City at the age of 16 and attended North Kansas City and Oak Park High Schools. Ken married Joanne Tennill, his high school sweetheart, on August 13, 1966. After attending Aero Mechanics School, at the Municipal Airport in Kansas City. Ken began working for TWA as a sheet metal mechanic. He retired from American Airlines after 43 years of service. Outside of TWA, Ken was a skilled craftsman and fisherman. He enjoyed fishing for catfish and crappie, building things from scratch, and perfecting his woodworking talent. Ken and Joanne had two children, Kelli and Jami. Ken instilled the core values of hard work, independence, and how to be a provider. His children remember him as a hard working father who did everything he could to provide a better life for his family. He will be remembered as a faithful husband, proud father, and devoted Papa. A man so very proud of his family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Kenik and his father Stanley Kenik.
Ken is survived by his wife, Joanne; children, Kelli and Kris Morrow and Jami and Brian Hayes; grandchildren, Stephanie and Phillip Stewart, Michael and Gage Morrow, Bret and Brooke Hayes; great grandchildren, Phillip and Louis Stewart; siblings, Don Kenik, Carol Allen, and Dennis Kenik.
A visitation for Kenneth is scheduled Friday evening, September 3, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 Northeast Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. A visitation will also occur Saturday morning, September 4, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, also at McGilley Antioch Chapel. With a funeral service schedule at 11:00 AM (due to construction at White Chapel Funeral Home). A committal service will immediately follow at White Chapel Cemetery Revelations Mausoleum, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
