Kenneth "Ken" DeWayne Otwell crossed over on December 30, 2019 to be with his parents, Monroe Marvin and Luevada Mae (Coffey) Otwell; his sons, Kevin Dean Otwell and Kendall Delayne Otwell and his grandson, Kevin Joseph Otwell.
Kenneth was born on July 29, 1938 in Canton, Oklahoma. He graduated from Canton Oklahoma High School and Enid Business College. Kenneth married Lois Mae Pitts in 1958 and he went to work at the local co-op in Weatherford, Oklahoma, he then moved to Okeene, Oklahoma where he started at the Sooner co-op as the Office Manager, Retail Fieldman, Assistant Manager and was promoted to the General Manager.
In 1969 he moved to Enid, Oklahoma where he went to work for Farmland Industries as a Territorial Fieldman and worked there until 1973 when he moved to Kansas City, Missouri to continue working for Farmland Industries as Product Manager for the Fertilizer Division. He was promoted to Executive Marketing Development and Services and in 1978 became Executive Director of Dry Fertilizer and Director of Fertilizer Marketing. In 1982 he returned to Enid, Oklahoma where he was the General Manager of the Oklahoma Division. In 1987 he returned to Kansas City, Missouri to be the Regional Manager of Member Support. In 1988 he moved to St. Louis, Missouri to set up and manage a new Regional Office. In 1994 he returned to Kansas City, Missouri to become Vice-President of Petroleum Division until his retirement in 2000. While working for Farmland Industries he was a member of the President's Club.
During his lifetime, he was an active member of the FFA where he held many offices and won numerous awards. He was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" in high school and was awarded "Most Outstanding Male Student" in Enid Business College. Kenneth served as "Chief Rattler" and President of the Okeene Jaycees and President of the Okeene Kiwanis Club.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Lois Otwell; daughter, Kelly Persinger and husband Darryl; sister, Glenna Johns; grandchildren, Cass Persinger and wife Kathy, Sarah Briscoe and husband Chris, Jamie Tennyson, Rachel Skaggs and husband Patrick, Lacey Persinger and Tiffany Persinger; and great grandchildren, Cody Gibson, Julius Briscoe, Bryce Persinger, Logan Persinger, Alexander Briscoe, Cheyenne Skaggs, Oliver Briscoe, Rylee Barnett, Hunter Skaggs, Rhealynn Barnett, Theadore Briscoe, Hank Skaggs and Philip Briscoe.
Kenneth was the true leader of his family and he will greatly be missed.
