He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Betty Barnes. And his wife of 46 years, Barbara Barnes.
Lloyd is survived by his step mother, Inge Barnes of Kansas City; his sister, Mary Griesbach of Booneville, Missouri; his sister, Ellen Ross of North Carolina; and his brother, Eric Barnes of Kansas City. His two daughters, Elizabeth Schrader and her husband, James & Laura Waldon and her husband Dion and his step son, Kenneth Taylor all of Kansas City. His three grandsons and their wives, Jake and Selena Waldon, John and Sarah Waldon and Blake and Amy Waldon. And three great grandchildren, Stephen, Kirsten and Milo Waldon.
Lloyd graduated from North Kansas City High School and spent most of his working life as an over the road truck driver. He drove meat to the California coast and brought fruits and vegetables back every week. Lloyd played guitar, banjo and a little harmonica and had a lovely baritone voice. He was a smiling, affable fellow who loved to tease and tell jokes. His charming character will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Poppa, thanks for being my dad. We will schedule a celebration of life when it is warmer and safer to gather.
