He was the oldest of two children. Anyone who knew Lloyd knew his love for racing ran deep. This love started in early childhood when he spent his weekends at Riverside watching the dirt track races with his parents and sister, Cassie. In 1995 he met his wife, Rochelle, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Lloyd was scheduled to have surgery at St. Luke's and Rochelle was working the reception desk. While she was busy at work, that didn’t stop Lloyd from asking her out to lunch and the rest is history. Together they blended their family, sharing three children, Shane, Michelle, and Joshua.
His love for cars and racing continued through the decades leading to his career in insurance as an auto claims adjuster working with his dad Lucky before transitioning to Country Companies in 1996. He progressed through his career until he retired in 2019. Even before retiring from Country Companies, his love for racing led to an even deeper love in Dirt Track Photography, where FastTrack Photos was born. This led to many opportunities, including his position as a traveling photographer, with the Midwest Late Model Racing Association (MLRA). If you couldn’t find Lloyd on a Friday or Saturday evening, you could almost bet he was at the track doing what he loved, dodging cars to get those great shots.
Lloyd passed away, surrounded by family and loved ones on March 25th, 2024. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Janice and Lucky Collins, and his daughter Amie Collins. He is Survived by his wife Rochelle Collins, children Shane (Tiffany) Massing, Michelle (Deron) Collins, and Joshua (Nick) Williams, and grandchildren Sierra, Zachary, Dakota, Junior, Jesse, and Kinsley. He is also survived by his sister Cassandra (Bud) Ellis, and niece Breezi (Jerrod) Maciel.
