

She is survived by her daughters Lisa (Stan) Owens of Belton and Karin Jones of Gladstone; her grandchildren Alicia, Angela, Ashlei, Cory, and Rebekkah; 14 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and her best friend of over 80 years, Sarah Botts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Kendall; son Michael; parents Jesse and Nellie; grandparents Virgil and Bertha; and brother Earl.
Lois was born June 1, 1937, in Richmond, but grew up in Camden, Missouri. She lived in Gladstone for almost 50 years at the time of her passing. It is in Kansas City where she met Kendall, and they were married on August 30, 1963. She obtained a master's degree from UMKC at 60 with her thesis focusing on surrogate parenthood.
She was known by her family and friends as being loving, feisty, compassionate, intelligent, and spirited. She dedicated most of her life to taking care of those around her. In her free time, Lois loved reading mystery novels and going to local parks to watch the wildlife.
Her loved ones take comfort in knowing Lois is at peace and that they had the honor of knowing her in life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City in Lois's honor.
