Lois Muriel Harmon, age 94, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on December 27, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan. At the age of sixteen, she met her future husband, James Harmon, and they had the pleasure of raising six daughters together, Cathy, Janet, Ann, Carol, Judy and Gail.
A talented artist, Lois received a Bachelor of Arts in Art Design from Marville University in 1988. She especially loved watercolor and photography, and she spent hours at the pottery wheel. The world of art was one where Lois thrived and found great enjoyment later in life.
After raising her family, Lois developed deep friendships with several women who shared her love for the arts and, for the first time, found time to travel. She was also an active advocate for many years for those in the 12-step program recovering from addiction. She was a voracious reader of mystery thrillers and spent hours reading or listening to her favorite authors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Lona Roberts; her husband, James Harmon; and her daughter, Janet Cline.
Lois is survived by her children, Cathy Lombard, Ann Smith, Carol Germano, Judy Woodson, and Gail Crosby, as well as 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
A small family gathering will be held at White Chapel Cemetery, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Gladstone, Missouri, 64119 at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
