Marlene was born December 2, 1971 to Gilbert Garcia and Trinie (Lopez) Maestas in Ogden, Utah. Growing up in Cortez, Colorado she attended and graduated from high school in 1990. She met and married Scott Fleenor in 1993 and settled in Kansas City, Missouri. Marlene loved the outdoors especially Colorado or any place with mountains. She was very creative with her painting, drawing and writing poems, even having her poems published. She was a very giving person with a heart of gold. Her family describes her as a joyful, non-serious person with a great sense of humor. In battling her illness, she never lost her faith and her love for God.
Marlene was preceded in death her uncle, Bengie "Ben" Randall and her step father, Sal Maestas.
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Scott Fleenor; her mother, Trinie; her father, Gilbert; her son, Cody Fleenor; her daughter, Cydney Fleenor; her two brothers, Kent (Tammy) Lobato and Kurt (Robert) Lobato; her four legged companion, Honey; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews as well as extended family.
