Marvin Elza Brown, 76, of Kansas City, Mo., passed into eternal glory June 5, 2015. Born the third child of Cecil and Rebecca Brown on Aug. 20, 1938, Marvin was baptized into the Kingdom of God four years later in 1942. Confirmed in his baptismal faith in 1959, Marvin lived out his faith in Christ as a loving and faithful husband to Phyllis, his only wife and love of his life since 1960, and a devoted and loving father to all his children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. A man of God, Marvin served his neighbor in his vocational life at the City of Kansas City as a facility manager for the last 40 years of his working-life. Much of his free time was spent volunteering at his church over five decades, enjoying his family, and sharing God's grace in Christ with those he met. Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Brown; mother, Rebecca Brown; and brother-in-law, Wayne Saunders. Marvin is survived by his wife, Phyllis Brown; five children, Steven (Victoria) Brown, David (Sheri) Brown, Nola (Stephen) Dawson, Michael Brown, and Michelle Brown; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; brother, Ralph Brown, and sister, Betty Saunders.
