Mary F. (Daugherty) Cottitta, 94, born in Moriarity, NM on October 23, 1920, passed away September 12, 2015. A lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, she proudly served in the Army Nursing Corp in WWII. Mary retired from TWA Medical Dept. She was an active member of St. Charles Parish and volunteered in many organizations in the area. She was proud of her Irish heritage, truly a woman of strong faith, character and wit. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Vincent Cottitta, Sr., and her three siblings. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Mary Ruth Gunter; grandchildren, Erin, John, Matthew, Daniel and Christopher; great grandchildren, Riley and Darby; and Vincent's son, Charles. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 AM, Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 900 NE Shady Lane Dr., Kansas City, MO 64118. Inurnment to follow in White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Charles Parish in Mary's name.
